The February 22nd concert highlights two pieces with Latin American influence –
Astor Piazzolla's brilliant Histoire du Tango and Winter Impressions by
San Francisco based Sergio Assad. Dynamic Serenades by Beethoven and
Reger provide contrast in style and instrumentation.

Mar_Image Jon Nakamatsu Stanford Woodwind Quintet  

Internationally celebrated pianist Jon Nakamatsu returns for our March 22nd concert
performing the brilliant Poulenc Sextet along with the gorgeous Brahmsian Thuille Sextet.
To open the program the Stanford Woodwind Quintet will give the San Francisco premier
of the second Woodwind Quintet by Stanford composer Giancarlo Aquilanti.

Our final concert on May 3rd features Mozart's beautiful Quartet in D major along with
the magnificent Ravel Introduction and Allegro. The early Romantic style of
Ferdinand Ries brings contrast in this quintet for flute, violin, two violas and cello.
Takemitsu's ethereal And Then I Knew 'Twas Wind is based on a poem by Emily Dickinson.
