The 34th season of the Avedis Chamber Music Series opens with soprano Désirée Goyette
and pianist Robin Sutherland joining the Stanford Woodwind Quintet in
three
blockbuster
pieces. The beautiful song cycle of folk songs, titled Gyümölcskosar (Fruit Basket),
by Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas is contrasted by the impressionistic beauty of
Joseph Jongen’s Rhapsodie and the lush romanticism Josef Rheinberger’s Sextet.
